Suspect in Hunan killing spree detained
A MAN was detained this morning for allegedly killing 12 people and seriously injuring further two in central China's Hunan Province, police said.
Liu Aibing, 34, was captured at about 6:50 am in a hill in Qingtang township in Anhua County. About 1,000 police involved in the manhunt.
Liu allegedly fired a hunting gun at families and set fire to six houses in his remote mountain village in Gaoming Township in Anhua County at 5 am yesterday.
Among the dead are Liu's father and other near relatives. The dead aged between 6 and 86.
Liu returned home two months ago from Hunan's neighboring province of Guangdong, China's "factory of the world", where he worked as a migrant worker. He has a history of mental illness.
Further police investigation is under way.
