Suspects nabbed in SW China blast

Police have arrested suspects in a fatal explosion at a gambling den in southwest China's Guizhou Province, said local authorities yesterday.

Two suspects, both surnamed Yang, allegedly conspired to commit robbery after setting off a bomb at a gambling site on a remote mountain slope in Laoshan Village of Kaili City, according to the provincial public security department.

Fifteen people were killed in the blast, which occurred at 2:40 pm on January 13. Another seven people were injured.

The casualties were people who had gathered at the site to gamble.
