Suspects of shooting robbery in Yinchuan arrested

POLICE have arrested three suspects for shooting a man dead in a robbery in May in Yinchuan, capital of the northwestern Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, cnhubei.com reported.

Wang Qiliang, Qu Qiyou and another man surnamed Yu were captured in three places in Gansu and Hubei provinces and in Ningxia on the same day of June 25. They have all been brought back to Yinchuan.

The trio said they planned to rob a bank but changed their minds as they feared that bank security guards may have guns. So they turned to bank customers as prey.

On May 31, Wang robbed a man of 1,200 yuan (US$188.28) as soon as he came out of a China Construction Bank office in Yinchuan and shot him when the man tried to resist. The victim died on the spot and Wang fled with a motorbike.

Wang bought the gun from a blacksmith in his hometown of Qingyang in Gansu Province. Qu and Yu helped Wang to hide his gun and other evidences. Their case is still under police investigation.
