Swine Flu 'Negligence'
EDUCATION authorities in central China's Henan Province have attributed a swine flu outbreak at a high school to negligence, and they said they plan to penalize the people who were responsible for it.
Twenty-nine new H1N1 cases at the No. 3 High School in Xin'an County were confirmed yesterday after 80 people cases were diagnosed there on Sunday, according to Xinhua news agency.
Jiang Duyun, Henan's education director, said local school officials failed to ensure morning temperature checks ordered by state authorities to prevent and control the spread of swine flu as the fall semester began.
The outbreak in Xin'an should serve as a warning to other schools, the official said.
