TV advert aims at enhancing China's image
FIFTY Chinese celebrities including basketball giant Yao Ming and Hong Kong tycoon Li Ka-shing will star in a TV commercial due to be aired worldwide before October 1, the Chinese National Day.
The nation's image-building commercial will have two versions: a 15-minute episode to be used by Chinese embassies for important events, and a 30-second one to be broadcasted on mainstream TV channels.
The commercial producer, Shanghai Lowe & Partners, said the short version will feature Chinese celebrities in different walks of life – athletes, academics, scientists, businesspeople, and artists.
The 15-minute film will focus on the country's achievement in politics, economy, society, environment, and science and technology.
The Information Office of the State Council initiated the commercial project and is its funder, reported the West China Metro Daily today.
