Taiwan Gives Thanks For Disaster Aid
TAIWAN leader Ma Ying-jeou expressed gratitude yesterday to the Chinese mainland and the international community for the typhoon relief aid they have contributed.
The mainland has sent two consignments of relief to Taiwan so far, including sleeping bags, blankets, sterilizers and prefabricated houses.
In addition, the Association for Relations Across the Taiwan Strait donated 106 million yuan (US$15.5 million) and HK$5 million. The Red Cross of China has given 21.85 million yuan.
