Train services fully resumed in western Taiwan today after a power outage yesterday morning, affecting at least 57,000 railway passengers.

Operations resumed at 8:19 am, nearly a whole day after a traveling train pulled down an overhead electric cable along a section between the counties of Taoyuan and Changhua, according to Taiwan's railway authority.

The accident disrupted traffic on a major north-south line in western Taiwan, affecting 118 trains and 57,000 passengers yesterday.
