Tax bureau chief fired for raping young woman

A tax official in Fu'an City, coastal Fujian Province, was sacked and arrested for raping a young woman, the city government said in a statement yesterday.
An online post said Zhao Huizhong, director of Fu'an City State Taxation Bureau, made the woman drunk at dinner and raped her in a hotel room on July 5. He even threatened to retaliate if she dared to report it to the police.
Police received a tip-off from the woman's boyfriend on the same night and started to probe into the case.
Zhao was detained last Saturday and is facing criminal charges. A new director has been appointed to take up his job, according to China News Service.
