Teacher orders naughty kids to slap each other's face
A school teacher in Suzhou City, Jiangsu Province ordered pupils in her class to slap each other's face as punishment, the Modern Express reported today.
The teacher surnamed Gu has been suspended by the Dongfang Primary School and counseling psychologists have been hired to work with the children, the report said.
School principal Shi Yongju told the newspaper that Gu was a Chinese language teacher and also the class instructor.
Shi said some children were naughty in her class last Friday and Gu ordered them to change seats but was ignored. Then she ordered the pupils to slap each other. But Shi didn't say how many actually slapped.
Shi said the school had sent three pupils with burning red faces to hospital for treatment.
Qian Chunying, an official with the local education bureau, said they were probing into the incident. "If the school fails to deal with it properly, its license will be revoked," Qian said.
