Teacher sacked after molesting student

A VICE principal of a key high school in east China's Jiangsu Province has been sacked after allegedly molesting a girl student in his office, the disciplinary supervising authority of Liyang City said.

The physical education teacher surnamed Fei was also dismissed as the school's vice Party secretary, the authority told today's Yangste Evening News.

The authority didn't name the school or the student, citing privacy concerns.

Police investigated and detained Fei over an accusation of molestation. An officer close to the case denied Fei raped the student, the newspaper said.

The teacher had allegedly claimed the girl had taken the "initiative," an official surnamed Liu with Liyang's education bureau told the newspaper.

The girl, a senior student, did not tell her parents until a month after the incident.
