Teacher seized over toddler's death
A KINDERGARTEN teacher in an eastern China city has been detained over the death of a three-year-old boy.
Liu Xiaoling, a teacher at Tiantian Kindergarten in Ningbo City, Zhejiang Province, was detained over the weekend for allegedly putting Gao Chenxi in danger, which led to his death, Xiandai Jinbao newspaper reported yesterday.
Liu may also be charged with child abuse as she hit Gao's head with a 30cm-long plastic pointer. Liu hit Gao on several occasions on July 23, according to Chai Zeyue, deputy director of the Zhenhai District Public Security Bureau.
She later found him on a window sill and started hitting him again. Trying to climb down, the boy got stuck and Liu left him hanging there for a minute. He was later declared dead in hospital. He chocked to death.
