Teen son of famous military singers gets 10 years in gang rape case

The teenage son of two renowned military singers was today sentenced to 10 years by a Beijing court for his involvement in a gang-rape case.

The Haidian District People’s Court said the 17-year-old Li Tianyi and his four accomplices assaulted and gang-raped a woman, surnamed Yang, in a hotel on February 17 in Beijing.

The other four defendants were sentenced from 3 to 12 years.

Li was reported to be the only one who pledged not guilty during a two-day trial in late August. He reportedly insisted that they were paying for sex and he was so drunk that he became unconscious in the hotel.

Li is son of famous Chinese military singer, 74-year-old Li Shuangjiang, and his wife Meng Ge, also a renowned military singer.
