Teenagers jailed after video infuriated public

TWO 15-year-old girls and a 19-year-old man in south China's Guangdong Province were sentenced to prison terms of up to three years for stripping and beating another girl and posting their taped video online.
A court in Xingning City convicted them on charges of violent assault on woman, Guangzhou Daily reported today.
The three convicts were arrested with eight other suspects after the six-minute video clip showing them punching, kicking and cursing a victim in torn clothes sparked public outrage in late April.
One of the convicted girls, surnamed Li, told the court that she had a grudge against the victim who was dating her boyfriend. Li asked others to help her teach the victim a lesson on April 12.
They blocked the girl on her way home after school and forced her to go to an elementary school's playground and began the beating.
