Terrorists to be ‘hit hard’ in special operations
CHINESE authorities are to launch special operations against terrorism, a senior security official said yesterday.
Law enforcement agencies will fully implement the leadership’s arrangement on counterterrorism, said Meng Jianzhu, head of the Party’s political and legal affairs commission, at a meeting of officials from law enforcement and judicial departments.
Meng vowed that the authorities will hit terrorists hard and new technologies will be deployed to detect and remove security threats. He urged officials to improve relations with the public and win their support, especially online, and also said power should be exercised in line with protocols and laws instead of it being abused.
