Test takers asked embarrassing questions
Many people who took Sichuan Province's annual civil servants' exam over the weekend complained that they were challenged by an embarrassing question on the papers, asking them whether they were satisfied with their sex life.
A total of 192,138 people took the province's exam on Saturday to compete for about 8,000 job positions, setting new records of exam participation number in the province's history, according to a Sichuan Province-based Chengdu Business Daily.
But after the exam, many people told the newspaper that they were puzzled by some questions of the exam, with several ones covering the topic of "sex", which seldom appeared on exam papers before.
Among the questions, the most embarrassing one as the exam takers recalled was that "Are you satisfied with your sex life?", according to the newspaper.
Many exam takers said they couldn't figure out the purpose of raising such a question and they wondered why they had to answer it.
"What is the direct relationship between my attitudes towards sex life with the public security job position that I applied for?" asked Wang Li, an exam taker from Chengdu, capital of Sichuan Province.
The website said some exam takers answered the question very carefully as they feared it has some connection with the basic information they submitted before.
"If I submitted the information at first saying I was not married and then I answered I was satisfied with sex life, will the judges erase my name on the job list because I had premarital sex?" was among the fears.
Although embarrassed, many exam takers didn't leave the answer blank, as according to the exam's regulation, the score will not be given if one doesn't answer over 30 percent of the questions.
While some exam takers believed that the question was actually a polygraph test.
"There are several other questions related to it so if you gave answers that contradicts each other, the judges may easily find that you are lying," the newspaper quoted an exam taker as saying.
