Thai PM starts China tour
THAI Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva arrived in Beijing this afternoon, on his first official visit to China since he took office last December.
During his four-day tour, Abhisit is to meet President Hu Jintao and hold talks with his host, Premier Wen Jiabao.
He will visit Tianjin, a port city near Beijing and Guangdong Province, the economic hub in south China.
Abhisit said before the visit that he hoped his China tour will boost Thai-Chinese ties and China's relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
