Thailand deports ‘illegal’ Chinese pair
Thai authorities have transferred to Chinese police two Chinese nationals, who were detained for illegal entry into Thailand and an illegal stay, authorities said yesterday.
Chinese police have detained the two suspects — identified as Jiang Yefei, 47, and Dong Guangping, 56, — and accused them of organizing illegal border crossings and illegally crossing the border, respectively.
The transfer procedure for the two was in accordance with a cooperation mechanism between Chinese and Thai police, Chinese police said.
Jiang, a native of southwestern Sichuan Province, was already deported from Thailand in 2012, but returned, again illegally.
He met Dong through the Internet in early 2015. Dong left his hometown in central Henan Province, travelled through several provinces as well as Laos and crossed into Thailand in September.
The two were caught by Thai police on October 28 and were handed over to the Chinese police on November 13.
