The Voice of China to return

TV talent show "The Voice of China" will return for a second series in the summer, producers said yesterday.

Last year, the show attracted an average viewership of 4 per cent of the total mainland TV audience.

Its second series on the Zhejiang Satellite TV will run during the summer vacation, officials said in Beijing.

According to producers, the second season will feature more untapped Chinese musical talent from all over the world, most of whom will receive specific musical training and advice from veterans.

Western musical elements will also be included in new interpretation of pop songs.

The best eight finalists will have a chance to win contracts and release their own albums.
Its panel of judges is yet to be decided.

"We will develop the entertainment show into a mature and sustainable franchise that can promote the domestic music and TV industries," said Tian Ming, producer of the show.
