Thief admits lifebuoy thefts
A thief has admitted stealing 18 lifebuoys from the banks of the Pearl River in Guangzhou. The arrest followed a series of lifebuoy thefts from the tourist hotspot in south China's Guangdong Province, the Yangcheng Evening News reported.
Lifebuoys were constantly being stolen so they were enclosed in a glass box with a hammer to be used in case of an emergency. However, that didn't stop the thefts as the thieves simply broke the box.
Over four months, 80 lifebuoys had gone missing.
