Thief consoles victim with phone messages

POLICE in Chongqing in western China are looking for a thief who stole a cell phone, a necklace and about 700 yuan from three young women who shared one rented room.
To the women's surprise, the man did not turn off the stolen cell phone and even texted to the owner to comfort her. "Sleep early and you'll be healthy. You look pretty when you're asleep," the message said.
The women said the theft occurred in the early hours last Sunday when they were all asleep. After finding their things were stolen, they called the police.
The phone owner surnamed Cai kept dialing her number which upset the thief. "Will you just let me sleep?" the man texted back.
