Thief's iPhone robbery went bust
THE China release of iPhone 5 led to a burglary attempt yesterday on a Beijing Apple reseller outlet, iSpace, Beijing Morning Post reported.
Surveillance footages showed a man using a tool to break the store window at about 4am yesterday, climbing into the store and approaching the warehouse, a store manager surnamed Zhang told the paper.
Stills from the footages were posted by the store on its official microblog. They showed a broken window. But the store reported no other damages or stolen goods.
"It is possible the thief fled after hearing people coming," Zhang said. "We have a very tight security system. Therefore we didn't lose anything."
The thief would not have found the new iPhones in store as they hadn't arrived until late in the afternoon, he added.
iSpace has handed the video footages to the police for investigation, the paper said.
