Thousand of air travelers stranded
TENS of thousands of passengers have been stranded in Shuangliu International Airport in southwest China's Sichuan Province, following thunderstorms overnight on Monday.
Storms hit Chengdu, capital of Sichuan, at about 8:40pm and continued until 4am yesterday, with 20 millimeters of rain falling. The authorities said 39 inbound flights could not arrive on schedule, 72 inbound and outbound flights have been canceled and four inbound flights sent back.
