Three spread online rumors of syringe attacks
POLICE in central China's Henan Province have caught three people spreading online rumors of syringe attacks, police said yesterday.
Wang Zhen, 23, of Zhengzhou city, published an online post on September 12 claiming that he planned to attack some residents to vent his anger because he was unsatisfied with his job, police said.
Han Yapu, of Shifosi town in Nanyang city's Zhengping county, wrote a post on September 9 saying that some Uygurs had attacked local people with syringes, similar to the attacks in Urumqi.
The third is Wang Haifeng, a college student in Kaifeng city, who said Uygurs were carrying out syringe attacks in Xi'an, capital of southwest China's Shaanxi Province.
Police detained Wang Zhen and Han, and handed Wang Haifeng over to his school for punishment.
