Tianjin authorities visit Danish company’s production site
Chinese authorities have visited a site operated by Danish drugmaker Novo Nordisk A/S, the world’s biggest maker of insulin, the latest development in a widening investigation into Western drugmakers.
Novo said officials from the local Administration for Industry and Commerce visited a production facility in Tianjin on August 1.
“We were asked to provide information regarding our operations in China,” Chief Financial Officer Jesper Brandgaard said yesterday.
He said that whether it was a routine check, or triggered by the GSK investigation, was not clear. However, there had been no suggestions of any wrongdoing, he claimed.
