Tiger On Camera Highlights Trap Danger
AN infrared camera set up by the World Wildlife Fund and forestry authorities in northeast China's Jilin Province recorded images of a wild Siberian tiger in the Wanda Mountains earlier this month.
The WWF says this shows how important the mountains are as habitat, and why animal traps need to be tightly controlled. It estimates there are fewer than 20 wild Siberian tigers in China and traps are a major threat.
