Tiger killed after gnawing tourist to death in Ningbo zoo

A man was gnawed to death by a tiger at a wildlife zoo in eastern China's Ningbo City this afternoon and the tiger was shot dead, The Beijing News reported.
The incident took place at Ningbo Youngor Zoo at about 2:30pm.
The man, who was a tourist, was attacked when he climbed over the fence of the range and approached a tiger who was being fed by a zoo employee, according to a witness who was quoted by Beijing Youth Daily.
The staff of the zoo came to his rescue, trying to disperse the tigers with firecrackers at first, and then rushed him to the hospital.
An official from the zoo told The Beijing News that the man is an adult and that his wife and child were present at the scene.
