Tilting high-rise a nightmare for neighbors
THE delayed demolition of a 19-story illegal building which is leaning due to its poor infrastructure is posing threat to nearby residents in southern Hainan Province.
Folks living close to the dangerously tilted Fujing Apartments in Haikou, the provincial capital, said they were haunted by the fear that the building would topple without warning and bring damage to their houses, People.com.cn, a Chinese news portal, reported today.
Authorities of Longhua District ordered the apartment building be demolished last August after investigation revealed that it has serious quality problems.
