Toddler died following vaccination

A toddler in Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu Province, died on Wednesday following vaccines.
The three-month-old girl victim was found breathless by her parents on Wednesday afternoon and confirmed death later in hospital.
She had an injection of DPT and sugar-coated polio pill vaccine on Wednesday morning at a local health center in Nanjing's Jiangning District. DPT refers to a combo of vaccines against three infectious diseases in humans 鈥 diphtheria, pertussis (whooping cough) and tetanus.
A deputy director of the center surnamed Tao said the cause of girl's death will be examined by district health bureau and Nanjing Center for Disease Control and Prevention. Tao denied any improper practice in serving the vaccins for the girl. The vaccines were provided by the district CDC.
Experts with Najing CDC said no death case has been reported among local children taking the sugar-coated polio pills since 1992 nor among kinds receiving DPT injection vaccination since 1980s.
Both the two types of vaccine are very safe, they added.
A doctor, who joined the emergency aid to the girl, said her stomach was full of stuff mainly milk.
Experts said food and milk should be avoided half an hour within the acceptance of polio vaccine pill.
