Toddler dies after being hurled to ground in row

A TWO-YEAR-OLD girl hauled from her stroller and thrown to the ground by a man arguing with her mother in Beijing has died.

Despite two days efforts to save the child's life, she was pronounced dead by doctors at 11pm on Thursday.

It was a heartbreaking development in a story which has shocked the nation.

Her body has been transferred to Daxing Forensic Hospital for an autopsy.

A 42-year-old Beijing man, surnamed Han, has been detained in connection with the incident.

The attack occurred about 8:50pm on Tuesday.

Surveillance camera footage showed the little girl sleeping in her stroller. Her mother is seen bending over to check on her daughter when a white sedan stops nearby.

Witnesses said there appeared to be a dispute over parking. Han, the passenger in the sedan, pulled the toddler from the stroller, lifted her above his head and dashed her to the ground.
