A top transport official has been removed from his post in a continuing corruption probe, the Ministry of Railways said yesterday.
Zhang Shuguang, 55, the ministry's deputy chief engineer and general director of the transport bureau, has been placed under investigation over alleged "severe violation of discipline."
The move follows the removal last month of Railway Minister Liu Zhijun.
Zhang is known as a "pioneer" of China's high-speed railway technology.
