Top academy's lab demolished
BEIJING police have started an investigation into the alleged forced demolition of a laboratory related to China's top science academy.
Lab facilities were destroyed and staff's personal belongings were buried in the debris, staff with the lab of Chinese Academy of Sciences' Power Research Institute in Beijing's Huairou District told today's Beijing News.
The demolishers arranged accommodation for four lab workers at a nearby hostel, they said.
More than 20 people from a construction site nearby forced the lab staff to move out and demolished it on Saturday morning, according to the institute's guard surnamed Li.
They forced demolition probably to speed up their construction, sources close to the issue told the Beijing News.
