Torrential rains forecast for south China
CHINA'S meteorological authority today forecast torrential rains for the southern regions and thundershowers for the northern parts of the country over the next few days.
Parts of south China and Yunnan province will be hit by rainstorms and gales from today to Sunday, according to a statement posted on the National Meteorological Center's website.
Some of these areas will see precipitation reach up to 180 millimeters, according to the statement.
Heavy rains are also expected for Inner Mongolia autonomous region, Heilongjiang, Jilin and Liaoning provinces during the three-day period.
Temperatures in these regions will be 2 to 3 degrees Celsius lower than the average, according to the statement.
