Trailer truck slams into crowd of people, casualties unknown

A trailer truck with faulty brakes slammed into a crowd of people at an intersection in Lianzhou City, Guangdong Province, causing heavy casualties this afternoon, Southern Metropolis Daily reported.

The accident happened near a school at the Huiguang Road and Nanjin Road intersection in Lianzhou City around 12:15pm, the report said.

The truck was transporting calcium carbonate when the driver lost control and veered into the crowd.

The report did not say how many people were injured.
