Transsexual dancer barred from being a TV show judge
A Chinese transsexual dancer last night condemned the Zhejiang Provincial Administration of Radio, Film and Television on her Weibo microblog for not letting her to be the judge of an entertainment show because of her sex change.
The famed 43-year-old dancer, Jin Xing, wrote that she would not appear in "We Are The Music" show on Zhejiang Satellite TV as one of the judges this weekend because the administration had told the show producer to get her out. Her microblog soon sparked a heated online debate.
Jin updated her microblog this morning, saying the show's director Chao Chi-Tai had seen the official missive which indicated that Jin's transsexual identity was the reason for her ouster.
Jin also wrote that after she published the microblog last night, the administration immediately blamed its staff for leaking the secret message. Jin said such behavior was "ridiculous" and taunted that the administration dared not to admit to what it had done.
