Travel agencies cancel trips
MAJOR Chinese travel agencies have suspended Vietnam tour services following the deadly violence targeting foreign nationals and businesses.
Ctrip.com, a major online travel service provider in China, confirmed yesterday that it has suggested that clients planning a trip to Vietnam put their plans on hold.
Those who have signed up or booked Vietnam holidays via the company will have their money refunded, the company said.
Over the past week, the China National Tourism Administration has posted several notices from China’s foreign affairs authorities warning of security risks to Chinese tourists in Vietnam.
Other major agencies, including Caissa and China International Travel Service, have also suspended tours.
