Trio arrested for making bogus honey

THREE suspects have been detained for making about 5,000 kilos of artificial honey with water, sugar and other ingredients and sold it in Jiangxi, Anhui, Hubei, Henan, Shaanxi and Sichuan provinces, China News Service reported today.
They have earned more than 100,000 yuan (US$15,702) from their illegal business since March.
One suspect surnamed Wen was caught while hawking the fake honey in Qingchuan County, Sichuan last month. His two partners were seized later in a rented house where they made the fake honey.
Officials confiscated more than 100 kilograms of sugar, alum, flavorings and citric acid in their house.
