Trio jailed for blackmailing officials with forged photos

Three men have been jailed in east China's Jiangxi Province for extorting money from 73 government officials by blackmail, Xinhua News Agency reported today.
Chen Hong, the main culprit, was sentenced to six years behind bars by a district court in Nanchang, the provincial capital. His two partners will spend three years in prison.
Last September, the trio grafted images of 73 government officials onto obscene pictures using the Photoshop software and mailed them to the officials along with a request for 90,000 yuan (US$14,277) in cash to destroy the "evidence."
The three men wanted to make 6.57 million yuan by blackmailing the 73 officials. But not a single yuan was sent to their bank account.
