Trio nabbed for slaying a family of four in Guangxi

POLICE has arrested three people for allegedly murdering a tax bureau director, his wife and two children in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region early this month, Guangxi police said today.

Zhou Zixiong, 44, director of Hezhou City Tax Bureau, was found murdered in his home on May 2. His wife, their 16-year-old son and 15-year-old daughter were also slain.

Suspect Ling Xiaojuan, 36, the younger sister of the director's wife, plotted the murder, police said. Ling broke into her sister's house with her nephew Su Kezhang, 27, and her niece's boyfriend Liu Shengming, 21, shortly after midnight when the victims were asleep.

Police said the murder was caused by a family conflict over money. Ling began to plot the murder in January.

The three suspects will be tried at the court soon, the police said.
