Truck driver detained for abusing police officer

A TRUCK driver has been detained in Qingpu District for insulting a police officer who gave him a ticket for illegal parking.
The driver, surnamed Wu, was punished in May by the officer, surnamed Gong, for parking his truck on a non-motor lane near the crossroads of Qinghu Road and Huaqing Road S. and blocking traffic.
Police said Wu refused to listen to reason and remove the vehicle. Instead he showered Gong with abuses.
His driving license was suspended after Gong deducted 12 credits from his record. Wu had to appear for a written test on traffic regulations again before getting his license back.
In the following few months, Wu first spat at Gong when he was on duty at Pucang Road, and then abused him on Qingkun Road and again at Dayinggang E. Bridge.
Wu told police he held grudges against Gong over the parking incident.
