Truck driver kills 4 in demolition protest
FOUR demolition workers were killed and 11 people were injured after a villager drove a truck into them in protest yesterday in north China's Henan Province.
Police are hunting for the driver Liu Danao from Nanliuzhuang Village in Henan's Zhengzhou City, today's Henan Business Daily reported.
Villagers have already been relocated from their homes in Nanliuzhuang which will be redeveloped into the Zhengzhou Yutong Auto Industrial Park, the newspaper said.
When workers were demolishing the vacant homes around 8:30am, Liu drove a truck and knocked down about a dozen people, witnesses told the newspaper.
Li then reversed the truck and hit several villagers nearby, the report said.
