TWELVE workers were trapped when a tunnel under construction collapsed today in northwest China's Gansu Province, the local safety authority said.
It was unclear if any deaths or injuries had been caused.
The accident happened at about 4 am in Shandan County in the city of Zhangye, the provincial work safety bureau said in a press release.
It said the workers were all employees of the Second Bureau of China Railway Co. Ltd.
Rescue work is going on.
