Two Su-27 pilots killed in air crash

Two Chinese Air Force pilots died in a plane crash yesterday afternoon in the coast of Shandong Province, Xinhua News Agency reported today.

Their Sukhoi Su-27, a twin-engine fighter jet made in Russia, crashed into mudflats near a bridge in Hushan Town around 1:35pm during a routine training exercise. The two pilots died on the spot.

The disaster caused no civilian casualties or damages, Xinhua said.

The cause of the accident has not been revealed.
