Two years of exchanges to seal friendship

THIS year and next have been designated as China-Arab friendship years, in which a series of exchanges will be held, President Xi Jinping said yesterday.
The two sides will arrange art festivals and cultural exchanges, encourage more students to go to each other’s countries, and strengthen cooperation in tourism, aviation, media and publication, he said.
In the next three years, China will train 6,000 personnel of various types for Arab states, and share its experience in development and poverty reduction, and its advanced technologies.
In the coming 10 years, China will organize mutual visits by 10,000 Chinese and Arab artists, encourage and support cooperation between 200 cultural institutions, and invite 500 artists from Arab states to train in China and provide them with support, he said.
