Typhoon warning for east coast

CHINA’S marine forecast station issued a yellow alert yesterday for a powerful typhoon moving into the East China Sea after barreling into southwestern Japan.
Typhoon Phanfone, which was downgraded from a super typhoon earlier, is moving at 20 kilometers per hour, according to the station. The typhoon could create waves up to 7 meters high in the eastern part of the East China Sea and waves as high as 3 meters will be seen off the coast near Shanghai and its neighboring Zhejiang Province, the center said.
