Cameron gave Li books that included biographies of Margaret Thatcher and Winston Churchill. Li, a tennis fan, also received two rackets signed by Andy Murray.

Li’s wife, Cheng Hong, an English professor, was given a selection of Man Booker Prize-winning novels.

Cameron received from Li a scroll painting, a bullet train model and a doll for his daughter, Florence, 3.
