UK tourist beaten, detained for molesting Chinese woman

BEIJING police have detained a British traveler who was beaten up on Tuesday night after he got drunk and molested a young woman on a Beijing street, police said today.
Online footages showed the man was attempting to strip off the knickers of a young woman as she was lying on the edge of the street crying for help.
The woman shouted: "No! No! I don't know him" when a Chinese man came to check what was happening. After a brief conversation, the Chinese suddenly started to beat the British and cursed him in Beijing accent: "Too rowdy! You bastard!"
The British man was seen lying motionless in the middle of the street not far from a department store, his T-shirt torn in the back.
Another passer-by was seen cursing and kicking the foreigner in his head and chest. "How dare you violate the Chinese girls," he shouted. Someone blocked him and pulled him away.
Minutes later a police car came up and took the drunken man to a police station. Netizens also posted footages of the same British man making indecent gestures on a subway train earlier.
