Undercarriage malfunction forces plane to make emergency landing

A domestic flight bound for Taiyuan in Shanxi Province made a successful emergency landing this afternoon following an undercarriage malfunction. No casualties were reported.
Flight JR1518 had 45 people onboard including the cabin crew.
The plane departing from Yinchuan in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region was forced to make an emergency landing at Yulin Airport in Shaanxi Province.
The MA-60 plane was made by Xi’an Aircraft Industry Co.
In February, a MA-60 plane belonging to Okay Airways made a successful landing after a faulty instrument forced it to delay its initial descent. No one was injured when the plane landed.
The Yulin fire service said it had received a call to deal with an emergency landing early afternoon, Xinhua News Agency reported.
According to a source with the airport, the pilot called for permission to land due to the faulty release of the aircraft's undercarriage, Xinhua said.
However, airport crew later saw the landing and confirmed the landing gear had opened.
The cause of the incident is being investigated.
The Joy Air fleet is made up mainly of domestic-made aircraft.
