Underground Clenbuterol Sites Destroyed
CHINA has destroyed the underground production network of lean meat powder, chemically known as clenbuterol, which can lead to cancer, heart disease and early puberty under a one-year campaign, Beijing Evening News reported yesterday.
Police have caught more than 980 people who were suspected of manufacturing and selling the illegal additive.
Meanwhile, 19 production sites, together with 2.5 tons of food containing the illegal additive, were destroyed, according to the newspaper.
