Unfinished bridge on Yangtze River collapses, workers missing

Several construction workers were missing after an under-construction bridge over the Yangtze River in Chongqing City collapsed around this noon, China Central Televsion reported.

A joint rescue by fire fighters and maritime authority is still under way.

One of the piers of the bridge had completely sunk in the collapse, it’s reported.

A crane from an engineering ship also snapped.

The exact number of missing workers is unclear.
