THE 2-year-old girl who was run over by two vans outside her family shop in Foshan, Guangdong Province last Thursday is close to brain death and is unlikely to survive, her doctors said this morning.
The girl's condition began to deteriorate on Tuesday night and doctors had to increase medication to maintain her blood pressure. Her heart stopped beating yesterday noon and she is urinating less, meaning her kidneys are failing.
The girl named Yue Yue has gripped the nation with her tragedy and there has been an online outrage over the indifference of 18 passers-by who chose to ignore the severely wounded girl instead of helping her.
